Library action “Summer reading”
The library action “summer reading” opened on June 16th, 2015.

We continue to work with graduators of educational programs. On march 27 English teachers of secondary schools in Kostanay region had a seminar “Effective ways of developing writing skills” in American corner. (33 teachers)
Also, the teachers were offered the exhibition "Kazakhstan: to the great in unity and harmony" focus on priority event of the year (550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, information about books of the year: Yesenberlin I. "Nomads"). The other highlights of the year also were mentioned: the 20th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, the 20th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. (exhibited 13 sources, viewed 42 copies).
Coordinator of the American Corner, Xeniya made a review of existing literature for teachers on the development of writing skills (40 specimens exhibited., viewed 135 ind., Issued 5 copies).
At the end of the seminar the teachers were given an exhibition tour "Tugan jer - Native Land."
As far as the seminar was attended by people of different nationalities within sociological research on the theme “Ethno-cultural needs of the readers” survey was conducted among the teachers and the questionnaire transferred for analysis to the Department of library development (30 copies).

Everyone knows that L. Tolstoy library of Kostanay city has Informational Resource Center “American corner”. Where the plenty of interesting books can be found in any sphere. Also we have professional literature for teachers of English teachers.
New methods of teaching, game method, English as a foreign language, writing essay, composition or report, academic writing, books for preparation of TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, SAT exams. These, and many other books You may find in our IRC “American corner”.
American corner has regular books arrival of methodics for school and pre-school teachers. These are: illustrated dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, books about animals. Also, fiction movies on DVD. It is a great opportunity to vary your lesson, make it more picturesque, interesting and cognitive.
You can plan the combined lesson or out-of-class activity in History of USA, Biology, Astronomy and Geography and hold it in IRC “American corner”. Pleasure for You and your pupils would be guaranteed.
Wide range of games like constructors, games on country study theme, logical thinking development for any ages, from pre-school pupils up to senior pupils. It will help you and your pupils get closer to each other, become more broadminded pupils and inspire them to learn English language.
Also IRS “American corner” hold webinars for teachers that give opportunity to get the certificate from US Embassy. These webinars are leaded by teachers from USA.
The most important aim of American corner is intercultural exchange for the purpose of strengthening mutual understanding between people from Kazakhstan and the USA in Kostanay region.

Shaping the Way We Teach English Webinar Course 13

The Office of English Language Programs is pleased to offer our 13th webinar course entitled Shaping the Way We Teach English. The 6 online seminars of the course cover a variety of topics and are intended for teachers of English or future teachers of English around the world. Participants who attend 4 out of the 6 webinars will receive e-certificates. Participants are encouraged to join the associated Ning (http://www.shapingenglish.ning.com) to participate in discussions, view or download video and other materials from the sessions, and access recordings of the webinars.
The series will take place from April 30 to July 9, 2014. Each 90-minute webinar will be held every other Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. in Washington, D.C. (check http://timeanddate.com for the time in your region).

The Regional English Language Office has a limited number of open webinar slots that will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a preference for those hosting viewing groups. Include the following information in your e-mail:
