American Corner Kostanay had a meeting with founders of the ‘Uyat Emes’ project – K. Kabatova, A. Shanazarova, and I. Bobkova.

The subject of the meeting: gender equality, reproductive rights and sexual and reproductive health of adolescents.

At the lecture, the idea was voiced that in an endless uncontrolled flow of information, you should not rely on information from the Internet because children misinterpret the received «knowledge» and only trusting relationships with parents contribute to the safety of children and prevent modern risks to the physical and psychological health of adolescents.

Touching upon the topic of gender equality, lecturers emphasized that this is also an integral part of adolescent sex education, both halves of humanity are equally part of relationships and bear full responsibility for sexual reproductive illiteracy.

In this regard, teachers and psychologists believe that the need of the introduction of comprehensive sexual as «extremely important» in helping «girls and boys, children and teenagers to truly respect themselves and each other, and [make] parents to be less afraid to talk with children about complex topics.»
